Pink Ruffle Cake- Cake Smash!

I made this cake and glitter cookie for Sherrikellyphotography for a pink and gold cake smash shoot. Pink and gold is one my favorite combinations. Sherri is one of the most talented photographer’s I know! Every time Sherri asks me to make a cake for her shoot, I am beyond thrilled. Her photography is absolutely amazing! Click on the link to see some gorgeous pictures of this cake smash!   This is a three layer vanilla cake with about 15 cups of Swiss Meringue Buttercream! Ruffle cakes use a lot of buttercream. Ombre Cakes

  I have been doing a lot of smash cakes for photo shoots. These pictures were taken by my talented friend Sherri Kelly of Sherrikellyphotography. She really takes some amazing pictures! Ruffle Cake – Happy Birthday!

Ever since I set my eyes on this cake on sweetapolita’s blog, I have wanted to make it. And what better time to make it than for my daughter’s birthday. It’s girly, fun and dramatic! My daughter had 3 options to choose from swirl cake, rose cake or a ruffle cake. Pat came the answer, “I want a blue ruffle cake, mommy”. I wasn’t worried about the cake part, I went with a rich, Devil’s chocolate cake from Sweetapolita. But the icing for the cake is what was making me nervous.
