I recently had the pleasure of working on a dessert table for a bridal shower. I made cookies, cake pops, pretzels dipped in chocolate, chocolate cupcakes filled with toasted marshmallows and a malt chocolate frosting, red velvet cupcakes and mini desserts like toasted panna cottas with a rich, dark chocolate sauce and chocolate pots de creme. I had a lot of fun making these cookies and desserts. The bride’s mother had set up and decorated the place so beautifully. Sharing some pictures from the event! Vanilla Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

Vanilla Cupcakes- recipe by Ina Garten I baked these cupcakes for my a dear friend’s baby shower which I hosted last year. I decided on an animal theme and kept it a neutral color, yellow since they were not aware of the baby’s sex. Like all Ina Garten’s recipes, this one turned out to be a big hit. The cupcakes are incredibly moist, light and fluffy. The only thing I would not do next time is fill the cupcake tins all the way up, it just tends to spill, making a very large cupcake. Other than that, it’s the best vanilla cupcake I have eaten! I added a little yellow color to the cream cheese icing to make it more . . . CLICK TO READ MORE

Chocolate Cupcakes

Chocolate Cupcakes– recipe by Ina Garten. Makes 14-15 cupcakes. I baked these for my daughter’s teacher’s birthday last week. She loves chocolate and coffee and these cupcakes have both. These incredibly soft and moist cupcakes are made with a rich dark cocoa powder, buttermilk, sour cream, and coffee making it an intensely chocolaty cupcake that’s any chocolate lover’s dream! Ina usually makes a creamy peanut butter icing with these but since I was taking them to school I topped it with a cream cheese icing, due to allergy concerns. I baked them in these adorable cupcake holders and toppers made by Meri Meri . The recipe given below makes 14- 15 cupcakes, I doubled the recipe. I got 24 regular . . . CLICK TO READ MORE

Red Velvet Cupcakes With Cream Cheese Icing

Red Velvet Cupcakes -recipe by Ina Garten. Makes 15 cupcakes These classic cupcakes have chocolate flavor and are even better with the cream cheese icing which is smooth, and sweet yet tangy. I love cream cheese frosting as it goes well with most of the cakes like banana cake, chocolate cake and the icing has no egg. It’s easy to make, and spreads beautifully too. It’s my daughter’s favorite icing, I add a little red color to it and turn it to pink when making a vanilla cupcake for her. Another great thing about this icing , it takes color so well. Baked these for a friend’s daughter who loves Red Velvet cupcakes. Everyone loved them though I would try . . . CLICK TO READ MORE
