Happy Birthday Meghna!

My daughter celebrated her 11th birthday recently by having her friends over for a sleepover. Yes! It was a unicorn party! Unicorn cake, chocolate covered Oreos, cake pops, and meringues were some of the desserts. The kids painted their own unicorns and also played a few fun games like pin the horn on the unicorn. I really had a lot of fun planning this party! A two tier unicorn cake. Vanilla and chocolate cake with my favorite buttercream- Swiss Meringue Buttercream! Loved these plates from my local Target store! Their beautiful paintings! The kids enjoyed pinning the horn on the unicorn!Their gift bags. Prom Night Dessert Table- Bow Ties And Sequins

I recently did a dessert table for a high school prom night where I got to work with one of Florida’s best event planners Georgia Watson. The theme was black and gold- bow ties and sequins! It was a fantastic experience working with her and making some fun treats! The treats included decorated sugar cookies, vanilla cake pops, Oreos dipped in chocolate, mint Oreo gems, decadent brownies, marshmallows dipped in chocolate, pretzels dipped in chocolate and of course candy!! A big thank you to Georgia Watson for this opportunity and also to my dear friend Daniella who helped me to set up the dessert table on the day of the event! Happy Birthday Meghna!

Yay!! Today is my daughter’s birthday! We celebrated it over the weekend at a gymnastic club. The kids had an awesome time. My little one’s only request was for a two tier cake. Keeping with the theme colors, I made a 3 layer (8 inch) chocolate cake and topped it with a 2 layer (6 inch) vanilla cake. For the chocolate cake I used this recipe and this for the vanilla cakes. Both the cakes were made using Sweetapolita’s recipes and they turned out yummy! The ruffles were made using an Ateco 104 tip and with my favorite Swiss Meringue Buttercream ( 15 cups of it). This was my first attempt at a two tier and I was mighty stressed. . . . CLICK TO READ MORE
