Orange-Beetroot Juice

Orange -Beetroot Juice- Serves 6 Last year my husband gifted me this fantastic Breville Juicer so I could join my neighborhood friends on a cleanse diet of nothing but fresh juices all week long. Today, my juicer is an integral part of weekend breakfasts at my place. One of our favorites is white gourd with a splash of lemon juice. Another is a unique combination of oranges and beetroot which is positively divine! I was doing some reading about beet roots and I came across this article on Dr. Oz’s site. Usually with any fruit or vegetable, doctors recommend eating it whole rather than juicing it as it loses it’s fiber and in turn one does not get the optimum . . . CLICK TO READ MORE

Scrambled Eggs

Scrambled Eggs- Serves 1 At my house, we all prefer to eat cereal on weekday mornings but weekends is when we love to relax and begin the day with a big and inviting breakfast. On weekends, I usually make scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, toast served with a glass of freshly squeezed juice (orange, grapefruit or celery). I like to add fresh cilantro, a dash of green chilly (for some heat), milk, salt, pepper and melted butter. I know many people who actually like to add butter to the eggs directly (I like to melt it first)on the pan, and honestly there is no right or wrong way of doing it but this is how my family enjoys it! Old Fashioned Banana Cake

Old- fashioned banana cake -Recipe by Ina GartenWhen I first read this recipe from Ina’s new book ‘How easy is that?’ I was reluctant to make it because I thought it’s so boring, another banana cake recipe. I was so wrong. Should have known better, it’s an Ina Garten recipe. This old fashioned favorite gets a new twist from the orange zest, really bringing out the flavor of the bananas. This is a soft, moist cake which is bursting with bananas, yet not overly sweet. The cake stays well for 2 to 3 days at room temperature. This cake freezes well too for the unexpected guests. Make sure the bananas have plenty of black spots on their skin and are . . . CLICK TO READ MORE
