This is my biggest order till date- 700 cookies for an Indian wedding! So exciting and fun! What do you do when you are approached to make 700 cookies. Get excited and nervous and then turn to the experts for advice which is what I did. I wrote to JILL FCS who gave me some helpful tips in going about a big order like this one. Thank you Jill. Thank you to Mary of Emma’s sweets too for her wonderful heart cookie tutorial.
My client wanted to give two cookies at the wedding set in a gold box. She wanted a heart cookie for sure since the couple tied the knot on the 14th of February. I suggested an Indian inspired cookie as the second one. The colors were turquoise, gold and purple. The stencil for the heart cookie was custom designed by Designer Stencils with the bride and groom’s initials!
My client was referred to me by one of the most sort after and amazing wedding planners in Florida Pinky Patel of Nikun Events Company! Pinky had seen my cookies made for my dear friend Kavitha’s wedding and had loved them. Thank you Pinky for referring me. I have had the most amazing time making these cookies!
Lastly, I would also like to thank my dear friend Daniela who helped me box them.
The cookies were first iced, after they were completely dry I piped the design on top. After that dried, the cookie was hand painted using edible gold dust. I used Sugarflair royal gold!
The white crinkle paper and gold boxes were purchased from Nashville wraps!
This is what 350 boxes look like with 700 cookies in them!
